Documents to submit

To open an account, customers need to submit documents confirming their identity and their Individual Number (My number) or Corporate Number. Different documents are required for individual accounts and corporate accounts.

For individual accounts

Please submit 2 types of documents below.
  • Identification documents

    Driver’s license, Passport (with address), or Resident card
  • Documents for confirmation of My Number

    Individual Number (My number) notification card, Individual Number (My number) card, or Copy of certificate of residence (must have Individual Number listed)

1.Identification documents

For an individual account, please submit either one identification document with a photo or two identification documents if you do not have one with a photo. Please refer to the list below.

*If you are a foreign national, please be sure to submit either your resident card or your special permanent resident certificate

2.Documents for confirmation of My Number

As of January 1, 2016, PayForex is required to confirm the customer’s Individual Number (My number) when a customer opens an account for overseas money transfers. Please submit one of the following documents:
  • Individual Number (My number) notification card
  • Copy of certificate of residence (must have Individual Number listed and be issued within the last six months)

*If you submitted your Individual Number (My number) card as your identification document, there is no need to submit your notification card or certificate of residence.

For corporate accounts

1.Corporation and Identification documents

For a corporate account, please submit one of the documents from the following list and identification documents (the same as for individual accounts above) for the person conducting the transaction.

*The person conducting the transaction: if the person conducting the transaction is not registered as a representative of the corporation, a power of attorney must be submitted.

2.Corporate Number notification document

Please submit the Corporate Number notification document received from the National Tax Agency.

How to submit documents

Identification documents and/or The documents can be submitted by uploademailfax, or mail. *If documents contain customer information that is not necessary for registration (such as domicile of origin), please black it out before submitting them.

Upload

Use a PC to upload image files from a digital camera, scanner, smartphone, etc. to myPay (your PayForex customer web page).
  • We recommend using png, jpg, gif, or pdf format.
  • Turn the flash off and use close-up mode to make sure text can be read clearly.
  • The maximum file size for uploads is 4MB for each file.

After you input all information required on the “Open an Account” page, select myPay home > Upload ID File > Upload screen

Email

Attach image files from a digital camera, scanner, smartphone, etc. to an email and send it to us.
  • We recommend using png, jpg, gif, or pdf format.
  • Turn the flash off and use close-up mode to make sure text can be read clearly.

Fax

Fax the identification documents.
  • Set the image density to slightly lighter than normal.

Mail

Mail copies of the identification documents.
  • We recommend making copies on A4 paper.
